Join 25 Northeastern student leaders to Israel and the Palestinian territories. The goal of this trip is for students to learn about various perspectives, as well as to get to know other student leaders on campus, so that we can better work together.
We are looking for student leaders, and our grant allows us to take 20 students who are not Jewish. This trip is completely subsidized, is all inclusive, and leaves on flights from Boston during spring break.
Highlights:
• Meeting with government officials in both governments
• Driving to a closed military zone on the Israeli-Syrian border and meeting with UN peace keepers from Sri Lanka in the trenches
• Discussions with NGO’s bringing peace such as Kids4Peace & Save a Child’s Heart
• Visiting some of the holiest religious sites in the world such as the Bahai Gardens, the Jordan River, The Temple Mount/ Haram esh-Sharif & Western Wall tunnels, the Church of Nativity in Bethlehem, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem and more
• Discussions with Imams in various Mosques
• Meetings with the African community in Israel
• Dinner with the Druze
• Exploring a Palestinian Brewery
• Floating on the Dead Sea in the lowest point on the entire planet

Every time I come back from a trip my grandma always asks me why I’m not in any photos, and every time I have to explain that it’s because I’m too busy taking photos to be in them.
This past trip to Israel was no different. My computer is full of photographs; every building, person, meal, view, etc serves as a memory that collectively represents my experience.
Now whenever I feel like it I can just open my laptop and see the golden Dome of the Rock, hear the children playing at Save a Child’s Heart, taste the strawberries I bought at the Mahane Yehuda market, and feel the sand under my feet at the Dead Sea.

I chose this photo because it was the first time on the trip where everything was quiet and we all enjoyed each other’s company in the midst of an absolutely beautiful scene. It’s a moment of the trip I will never forget with people I will never forget!
